Dimpled / Puckered Chin

Dimpled / Puckered Chin treatments

As we age, our face’s movements become more ingrained on our skin, causing puckers and dimples to appear around the chin area – this is sometimes known as the ‘marbling effect’. Although facial movements cause them initially, over time they become deeper, and remain visible, even when the skin is in a relaxed state. Our treatments will help smooth and firm the skin in the area, reducing the appearance of lines and dimples.

Botox has become a popular treatment to reduce the appearance of fine line and wrinkles since it was first introduced over ten years ago now. Botox involves injecting minute doses of the toxin Botulinum Type A into facial muscles to relax them, and prevent them forming thin lines and wrinkles caused by the muscle’s contraction, to give a fresh and youthful appearance. You’ll see the optimum impact of facial botox after ten to 14 days, and the effects can last for up to six months. The Skin and Hair Clinic offers a painless, effective and safe procedure, carried out by an experienced dermatologist using certified pharmaceutical Botox.

Q. Are there any side effects?
A. No, there aren’t, but you will receive strict instructions from the doctor about what you should do after your treatment. If you don’t follow them, side effects like a drooping eyebrow could occur. Botox works inside the skin for up to two weeks after the treatment, so it’s important that it doesn’t spread from the treatment area. That could be caused by other facial treatments, like dermabrasion and facials, which you can’t have for at least two weeks after botox; you can’t go to the gym, or drink alcohol immediately after your treatment either, as sweating and raising the body’s temperature could cause it to move.

Q. Can botox be used to stop me from sweating?
A. Yes, botox last for up to nine months as an effective barrier to excessive sweating. It numbs the nerve endings in the sweat glands, so they’re not stimulated to produce sweat.
